Problem motivation
Skype integration provides the real-time communication needed to fully realize Office365’s collaboration potential.
Ideate on a general direction
Integrating Skype into the complex O365 ecosystem (Outlook, OneDrive, etc.) required strategic placement and clear interactions between the 2 products. I explored options with stakeholders, ultimately choosing a side-by-side experience to preserve Skype's brand and enable contextual conversations.
Explore how Skype interacts with other tools
I collaborated with stakeholders from Office to map out the productivity scenarios and define the scope of the experience for combined tools.
I also analyzed the intersections between Skype and Office features to guide the decision on Skype feature access within other tools.
Final UX recommendation
I led the team to deliver a final UX recommendation for Skype integration with Office. Elements of our design was implemented in the initial phase of the integration workstream.
